Santa Fund

Established in 1894 by James H. Lindsey, founding publisher of The Daily Progress, the Santa Fund is an annual collaborative effort between The Daily Progress, WINA 1070 AM and the United Way-Thomas Jefferson Area to raise funds for clothing, shoes, medicine and other essentials for needy school children in our community.

Fund distribution is coordinated by school representatives in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson and Orange Counties who help identify children with needs.

The following local retailers support the Santa Fund:

  • Kid-To-Kid
  • Kmart
  • Marshalls
  • Roses Stores
  • Second Times the Charm
