Mentor/Tutor Fair Match Made!

I was part of the development for the tutoring/mentoring fair last year with a Leadership Charlottesville group.  During the process I knew I wanted to be a mentor or tutor.  I visited the various booths and was intrigued by Computer4Kids and their defined program.  You are assigned a middle or high school student that they think is a good fit based on interests and personality.  I meet with my student weekly and feel it is very rewarding for both of us.  We talk about her interests, school, and I feel I am a real part of her life.  We planned a project and I am so impressed by how fast she absorbs information.  I feel I am making a positive contribution to someone’s life that may not be obvious to either of us now, but will be apparent later.

Come out to the Mentor & Tutor Opportunity Fair on Thursday, January 28 from 11:00-2:00 at the Omni.  Parking is validated.  See you then!
